Klaus Lovgren (born April 5, 1969) founded AME Info in 1993 with Saif Al-Suwaidi. AME Info became the leading provider of business and financial information in and about the Middle East and was the first online media in the region to be audited by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (UK) in 2005 and conducted regular audits since then to pinpoint that the online media industry in the Middle East is genuine and measurable.
AME Info was awarded Superbrand status in the United Arab Emirates for the first time in 2005.
In March 2005, HSBC Private Equity Middle East Ltd. acquired a significant equity stake in AME Info FZ LLC and on the 4th of July 2006, London-based Emap plc (EMA.L) announced that Emap Communications, its business-to-business (B2B) division, acquired AME Info.
Following its sale to EMAP Klaus became an Angel Investor in several other companies including RingtoneFeeder.com, Wordy, Hello Messenger, Everbread and Tradeshift. In 2009, he made the 'Top Angels' list on TechCrunch with three deals of unknown value.
In 2011 the Telegraph named him 55th most influential technology investor in Europe and he founded evershift limited in April 2011 to make direct investments and provide advisory services.
