Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co. KG (pronounced or ) is a scholarly publishing house specializing in academic literature. Its origins date back to 1749 when it was given the right to print books by King Frederick II of Prussia.

De Gruyter Mouton (formerly Mouton de Gruyter) is one of the leading publishers in Europe specializing in the field of linguistics. It publishes journals, research monographs, reference works, multimedia publications, and bibliographies. It is a division of Walter de Gruyter, but retains an imprint of its own. Before having been acquired by Walter de Gruyter it was known as Mouton Publishers and was based in The Hague.
