The Quarterly Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics
The Quarterly Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics was a mathematics journal established in 1836 as the Cambridge Mathematical Journal for the first 4 volumes. It was renamed Cambridge and Dublin Mathematical Journal starting with volume 5. Volumes 5 to 13 of the Cambridge Mathematical Journal are also rather confusingly numbered as volumes 1 to 9 of the Cambridge and Dublin Mathematical Journal. In 1857 it obtained it was renamed to The Quarterly Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics and volume numbering re-started at 1. It was initially edited by J. J. Sylvester and N. M. Ferrers.
It merged with Messenger of Mathematics to form the Quarterly Journal of Mathematics in 1927.
