Lt General Archibald Douglas of Kirkton (1707 - 1778) was Member of Parliament and an army officer.
He was the son of William Douglas of Fingland and Elizabeth (Betty) Clerk.
He sat as member for Dumfriesshire and the Burghs of Dumfries, Lochmaben, Annan and Sanquhar in 1754-61-68-74.
Douglas had 3 horses shot from under him, and an eyebrow shot away, at the Battle of Dettingen, 26 Jun 1743. He was in Sir Robert Rich's Dragoons when a Colonel.
