Center of Evaluation for Global Action

The Center of Evaluation for Global Action (CEGA) is a research network at the University of California that advances global health and development through impact evaluation and economic analysis. The Center's researchers use randomized controlled trials and other rigorous forms of evaluation to improve policy and development outcomes around the world.

History and Mission

CEGA was founded in 2008 by a group of UC Berkeley researchers considered pioneers in the field of impact evaluation. The Center's faculty members have led some of the most influential studies in recent years, including evaluations of school-based deworming in Kenya and the Mexican government program Oportunidades.
