Daniel Bennett, performing under the stage name Transit, is an independent Canadian hip hop artist working out of Calgary, Alberta.
He was originally a member of Curbside Philosophy with DJ Homeschool Jon, their last concert together was in August, 2007. Following that he formed a partnership with Dave Wallace, calling themselves Transition.
In 2008 he was a nominee for the the GMA Covenant Award, the youngest artist present.
In 2011 together with collaborator Dan Wallace he undertook an "8 hour challenge" to produce a Top 40 style song in under eight hours to illustrate how formulaic he believes pop music is, the results were posted on youtube and the video went viral.
He studied at Ambrose University College and works out of Calgary, Alberta.
